Students at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School are learning that their opportunities to change the world through engineering are endless!
It's all thanks to the "Project Lead The Way" Program in Team Duval schools. Through the "Design and Modeling" course, Twin Lakes students are learning to sketch, measure, build and problem-solve with many of the same tools and skills used by engineers.
District leaders say these collaborative, hands-on techniques are setting students up to stand out in both college and career.
Project Lead The Way is currently in place at Twin Lakes Academy Middle, Robert E. Lee High (Engineering), and Mandarin High (Biomedical Science).
The program was recently established at Mandarin Oaks Elementary, and will soon expand into 7 middle schools for Computer Science - Highlands, JEB Stuart, Kernan, Lake Shore, Northwestern, Oceanway, and Twin Lakes.
It's just another reason Duval County Public Schools can say, "We Have That!" Learn more about our Engineering Programs and other Career and Technical Education offerings by visiting duvalschools.org/cte
